Feng shui rules for the bedroom advocates creating space for couples and not solitary furnishing. Having only one nightstand or space on one side of the bed indicates solitude, which can hold your single status in place. If you are single, but don’t want to remain one, work at decorating your bedroom like there is a partner there.

Symmetry is the key in feng shui where light stands and lamps have to be positioned on both sides of the bed. Work at decorating the bedroom in pairs or multiples. Instead of placing a single flower in a vase, place a bunch of flowers. Feng shui rules include hanging art showing romance and unity as this art creates a sense of balance and abundance in the room.

According to feng shui rules, the right corner of the bedroom is the love center. So no matter if you are single or a couple, you have to build a love shrine in this spot. This can be done by placing a table, dresser or shelf in this corner. Place a picture of yourself and your partner, a heart shaped box, books on romantic poetry and a pair of candles on it. Maybe even a thriving plant with wound and not spiky leaves or some silk plants or flowers could be added to this love shrine. However never leave any sick flowers or dried foliage as this obviously symbolizes that your love life is sick and dry too!

It is quite normal for one to have double beds in a bedroom; however feng shui rules condemn the use of king-sized beds. This is because using these beds in the bedroom tends to form a physical gap between you and your partner, and not promote your relationship. Moreover, these beds are usually split in the middle with two box springs. This can create a symbolic line between partners and in turn, affect their unity. However if you can’t afford to change your king bed, bedroom feng shui suggests placing a red sheet over the box springs. Feng shui rules say that this will help unify the two different halves of the bed.

While positing your bed, feng shui rules suggest avoiding placing it under a window as this does not have the symbolic support that is offered by a solid wall. This in turn leads to your getting a fitful sleep with energy entering and leaving through the window.

There is a new system that was introduced to the western world by ancient Chinese civilizations that is called feng shui. Feng shui is supposed to bring positive energies to the space that you incorporate them into and improve certain aspects of your life. Followers of this powerful belief use it for improvement in their lives in the areas of health, prosperity and wealth as it essentially brings harmony and balance to these aspects of your life.

History

Feng shui for improvement has been used for many years and in fact, it is one of the oldest belief systems in the world that dates back to over six thousand years ago and was even in use before the pyramids were formed.

There has been many research and scientific studies done that have uncovered the secrets of heaven and earth as well as the cause and effect relationship of environmental influences such as water and wind. Essentially it balances those energies using directions from a compass and other methods that improve these energies in your spaces such as the home or office.

The Whole Fad

Some people believe that this philosophy is just a fad that like other fads will pass however the difference between it and a fad is that this fad has already lived for 6, 000 years! Amazingly it is being practiced today in all corners of the world by many different cultures and people because they all share the same belief set that life is too short to suffer constant setbacks without trying it. It really isn’t becoming more of a fad; it is proving itself in various cultures around the world.

There are many good reasons to incorporate this ‘so-called’ fad into your life especially in our society today where everything is a rat race to bring more balance to life. If you compare your life to a hearty thunderstorm, the storm is happening because of the imbalance of hot and cold air masses in the atmosphere and by that very principle, the imbalance of energy in your life may be the cause of many problems and setbacks that take place in life. This life improving technique will only bring balance of energies in your home, office or wherever you introduce feng shui principles to your life.

If you have never tried it before then you are in for a treat. Start reading books about it and in no time you will have a home and a life full of positive energy!

Feng Shui, which was initially popular as a Chinese art, has now started gaining popularity all over the world. In fact, Feng Shui is a term composed of two Chinese terms: ‘feng’ means wind and ‘shui’ means water.

Thus, it is obvious from the meaning itself, that wind and water are the two elements that are required for the survival of human being. These two natural elements move, flow and circulate everywhere on Earth.

Everybody of us appreciates the benefits of a beautiful and a comfortable living environment. Now, Feng Shui examines the how the placement of things and objects within our house affects the energy flow and also how these objects interact and influence our personal energy flow.

Thus, you can use the principles of feng shui to position your furniture and interior decor in such a manner that it maximizes the positive influences and minimizes the negative ones. The harmony and balance within the home should be maintained by using the right color and light so that things work out perfectly fine.

It should however be remembered that the left side of a room is the powerful dragon and the right is the sleeping tiger. Things which are of constant use like clocks, electrical equipments etc, should be placed in the left side which is the symbol of power. The opposite half, belonging to the sleeping tiger should be kept calm, quite and static.

As per the feng shui rules,
1.The main entrance of a house should never face the south as it is considered very inauspicious.

2.It is always advisable to avoid having staircases facing the main entrance as it attracts the negative energy.

3.The door should open with a lot of rooms in front of you which is known to have a positive effect.

4.A wall in front of you at the time of leaving the house is very inauspicious.

5.A toilet facing your main door, as you go out, will adversely affect your business and career.

6.A toilet facing the main door, as you come in, will drain out all your wealth.

7.Three doors in a row are considered unlucky.

8.Always avoid a house facing hospitals, cemetery, police stations, jails and morgues which are known to invite disasters to your life and family.

Houses, flats, shops and other business premises, like human beings are always imperfect. So it is always advisable not to ‘try out’ feng shui on your homes. Taking the advice of a feng shui consultant is always a wise move.

Are you worried about how to design your place as per the feng shui principles? Well, then be on the look out for our next segment where we will be discussing about how to design your living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, study and other important rooms of your house.
